What Are The Best Daily Habits For Success?

I’m not one to follow the crowd or make choices based on what is trending. I tend to roll to the beat of my own drum, but when it comes to my life and business, my daily routine is key as I model the actions of successful people who have come before me.  (like WAY before me)

Daily Success Habits are not a new or revolutionary concept, but they are principles you can thrive by. Benjamin Franklin was known to be a creature of habit and he structured his day very meticulously in order to achieve maximum results.

"Early to bed and early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise."
- Benjamin Franklin

Rising early isn't for everyone. Personally, my genius hours include a 4:30am-5am wake-up call, but I know plenty of successful people who prefer late night to get their creative groove on.

The bottom line: Discover what habits enable you to operate at your highest level and commit to them consistently.

I get asked a lot, “Brianna, how do you get so much done?” I’ll start by saying, my ways are not bulletproof, and I often go back to the drawing board to reevaluate and recalibrate when I feel like I’m drudging through the muck, but I have a few tried and true habits that I refer to as my Daily Success Rituals.

My hope is these will get your wheels turning as you discover the unique rituals that work for you.

4 Daily Success Rituals To Live By

  1. Commit To Your Daily Rhythm

Whether you rise early or stay up late, your rhythm is yours alone and only you know what feels right to your body, mind, and spirit. Energetically, as an early riser, I am able to power through before the sun rises with clarity, focus, and creativity because distractions are eliminated.

As a mother to three awesome girls, I hear “mom, momma, momma,” a lot in my house, so by waking up early, I gift myself guaranteed uninterrupted time to work on projects, write, create content or simply vision-cast and plan.

A little wake-up hack if you’re one who wants to give the early morning wake-up call a try: You must have a compelling reason to get up!

Rising early isn’t always easy, but having a clear focus for the morning’s activity that excites you, will help when the alarm bell sounds. The other trick I practice, when I’m not so eager to put my slippers on, is to ask myself, “How great will it FEEL when I get my butt up and knock out x,y,z task.”

I allow myself to feel a sense of satisfaction, peace, relief, and energy knowing, “I’ve got the entire day ahead of me to do whatever I’d like because I’ve already accomplished some great stuff today!” Envisioning this propels me to stick to this daily success ritual and start my day before the sun rises.

Note: Stay tuned in to your body to know whether you require more rest. I typically relax my early wake-up call on the weekends because it feels good to sleep in a bit. When you get off the wagon, give yourself grace and try try again tomorrow.

2. Exercise, Meditate, Pray, Journal

I lump all these together because often they happen in the same cluster of time. After morning drop-off, I have about an hour to get in my morning walk/run and meditation time.

Often as I’m walking or running outside, I naturally pray and thank God (or The Universe) for the opportunity to take in all its glory. Nature inspires me and I take time to give thanks that I live in a neighborhood lined with trees, parks, flowers, and killer views of awesome clouds.

Sometimes, I crank up inspirational music and jam out, other times as I exercise, I focus on my breath entirely and clear my mind.

I am still working to create a more consistent meditation routine, but what I can tell you is that a simple 5 minutes daily of stillness, while focusing on your breath, does wonders for clearing out the chatterbox in your mind. Five minutes lead to ten and ten leads to fifteen.

I keep a journal next to me as I tap into this higher frequency, to record thoughts, “whispers” I hear, directives and guidance.

3. Choose The Information You Consume WISELY

When you wake up in the morning, what’s the first thing you do?

Do you reach for your phone to check your social media or turn on the television to catch up on breaking news?  Or, perhaps you make it a habit to check your emails while laying in bed?

You have a choice to start your day with junk food or vitamins, so empowering yourself with positive messages is one way to fuel yourself with energy.

What would it feel like to NOT check your phone first thing in the morning or have “quiet hours” so you’re not ending your day with the latest gossip from The Bachelor?

How can you feed your mind, body, and soul in a way that ignites power and confidence?

Choose the information you consume wisely; it will make a difference.

4. Practice Gratitude

I’m a huge fan of Jen Sincero’s book, You Are a Bad Ass: How To Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Live An Awesome Life. If you haven’t given this book a read, I highly recommend you download the audiobook today or pick yourself up a copy of the paperback. I have both.

Practicing gratitude and even keeping a gratitude journal was not a foreign concept to me; however, Sincero really drove home how powerful gratitude truly is.

She refers to Gratitude as the “Gateway Drug to Awesomeness,” and describes the concept not as an action, but literally as a “state of being.”

Feeling the gift of energy that surrounds you daily and not only recognizing the goodness flowing your way but appreciating deeply the subtle nuances in your life, raises your frequency to receive more.

In this “state of being,” you express your love for all that is by simply being YOU!

Furthermore, if you want to dive really deep into Sincero’s world (and mine!), couple an unshakeable Faith in the not yet seen with Gratitude and watch the fireworks fly!
